Preparing for Emergencies

Both Murphy Oil refineries are fully equipped to respond to emergencies and refinery teams receive regular training on the use and maintenance of on-sight equipment. The refineries’ emergency response teams participate in annual emergency response drills to ensure their readiness to act quickly and effectively to prevent and, when necessary to respond to incidents.

In Pearl, Mississippi, Meraux refinery employees take part in their annual three-day fire-training program. Although this training session is designed exclusively for Murphy employees, local St. Bernard Fire Department personnel are invited to the training session to promote a close and cooperative working relationship with local fire department personnel and Murphy employees.
