ConocoPhillips has long been a supporter of the American Red Cross, and one of our most recent projects with the national agency exemplifies one of the more unique approaches ever undertaken to provide emergency education and response.
The two-phase project includes two specially equipped tractor-trailers used for emergency response, education and training, as well as an interactive CD developed to teach children emergency preparedness. The CD, focusing on the disastrous lives of the "Notagain" family, was released to schools and emergency organizations nationwide. The trucks have been in operation for several years and have been put to use at numerous natural disasters across the United States.
ConocoPhillips and the American Red Cross developed the project, dubbed EmTRAC (Emergency Training and Response Action Centers), in memory of the victims of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
