Petro-Canada's Aboriginal Education Awards

Since 1987, Petro-Canada has contributed more than $800,000 in scholarship awards to assist Aboriginal individuals across the country with their post-secondary studies. Initially an in-house program, the company has since partnered with the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) to award the scholarships.

The foundation's all-Aboriginal jury meets each year to select the recipients. Petro-Canada increased its annual donation from $60,000 to $85,000 in 2003. Petro-Canada also funds NAAF's twice-yearly Aboriginal youth career fairs, aptly named 'Blueprint for the Future'.
