Spill Response Coalitions in Canada

Petro-Canada is a member of two organizations certified by the Canadian Coast Guard to act during a spill into navigable waters: the Western Canada Marine Response Corporation and the Eastern Canada Response Corporation.

These organizations were created by Canada’s major integrated oil companies in response to changes in the Canada Shipping Act (1994). Petro-Canada is a founding shareholder in both.
