Forum Summary
This event is being hosted by PIDX, a combined committee of Major Oil Companies and Major Suppliers from all over the world, who will be attending.
This forum, focusing on eCommerce in the Oil and Gas industry, is aimed at discussing Industry Accepted Standards, Best Practices and Successes. It is also the forum’s goal to listen to the attendee operators’ plans for eCommerce with a view to sharing experiences gained over the last 8-9 years. Some of the simple – “How to get started?” questions would be covered during the day.
PIDX assists member companies and the Oil and Gas industry in improving the efficiency, effectiveness and value of the information management, business process and technology functions.

The PIDX vision is to develop Global Energy Business Standards for the oil and gas industry and its trading partners and to achieve industry and enterprise-wide integration of business processes through seamless electronic business communication. PIDX projects have successfully re-engineered entire business processes and operations for greater efficiency and profitability through the implementation of XML (eXtensible Markup Language) standards and communication via the Internet.
PIDX, the API e-business standards development body for the oil and natural gas industry, develops the standards that facilitate electronic exchanges for our industry. PIDX is committed to the development of open standards, which are needed to ensure the competitiveness of our products and services and the interoperability of our systems.For 20 years, innovative oil companies, their customers, suppliers and business partners have collaborated on scores of standards development and business process improvement projects through the PIDX committee.
